Wolfspeed and North Carolina A&T plan to seek federal funding for the building of a semiconductor research and development facility at he university’s campus in Greensboro as the two expand an education partnership that’s already designed to help Wolfspeed expand its workforce.

Pent-up development demand in the northeastern Randolph County town of Liberty has gotten some relief: The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality has given approval for the town to add sewer lines. The town and DEQ entered a special order of consent in January 2021 preventing Liberty from adding sewer extensions until it repaired its wastewater treatment system. The system had had several overflow events mainly from stormwater runoff leaking into it after severe storms, particularly after major hurricanes.

Brad Short joined NAI Piedmont Triad as a Broker, in December of 2023. A life-long resident of the Triad, Brad has worked since 2016 in residential real estate, where he developed an interest in helping investors acquire income properties and land.

Brokers can better serve their clients by making a concerted effort to understand the regulatory entitlements process in their markets. The deal was nearing the finish line, recalls Robbie Perkins, SIOR, market president of NAI Piedmont Triad in Greensboro, North Carolina. He and his partner had been negotiating a 50,000-square-foot lease for a company that was an important contractor for the area’s new Toyota battery plant.

Jason Horton joined NAI Piedmont Triad as a Broker, in December of 2023. A High Point native, Jason earned his NC Real Estate License and joined a top Fortune 500 builder, D.R. Horton, specializing in residential new construction. Shortly after, Jason shifted into commercial and industrial real estate.
